One of the most important aspects of representing luxury properties is that you are at your best. The question is how well are you caring for you? Are you eating well, getting enough sleep, and exercising? Believe it or not, these self-care activities will make a huge difference in your stress levels.
In fact, when was the last time you took time out just for you? Where did you go and what did you do? How did you feel when you returned?
Taking time out for you is part of what is known as self-renewal. Self-renewal is an essential part of feeling great, reaching higher levels of productivity, and enjoying a high quality of life.
To renew something means to restore, to rebuild, or to make it like new in terms of freshness, vigor, or perfection. Renewal is the act or process of renewing something. Self-renewal is the active effort we personally take to restore, rebuild, and make new any part of our body, mind, and spirit.
Self-renewal requires a personal choice to take action -- no one else is responsible for your health and well being. This can be challenging, however, when you face major transitions such as the loss of family, divorce,or financial difficulties. The good news is that even if you have not developed the habit of self-renewal, you can begin it at any time.
To illustrate this point, what challenges are you facing at this moment? Research shows that if we sleep on a problem, we actually will be able to handle it more effectively the next day. Sleep actually helps you to cope.
What else makes you feel better? Is it a hot bath with candles or a long walk? Whatever you choose to do, take the action and determine if the experience makes it a little easier to deal with your challenge.
One of the greatest challenges you have to confront is dealing with your mindset. You may feel as if you don't have time for self-care because you're so busy. The smart move is to make time. Again, the research has repeatedly shown that you will get more done when you have taken time out for you. In fact, Paul Pearsall's research is absolutely stunning in this area.
His heart patient research has shown that laughing 100 times per day and having dinner with loved ones at least three times per week are better at warding off cancer and heart disease than almost anything else you can do.
So take some time for you. You may be surprised by how much more easily your business goes as well as how much better you feel.
