As someone who lives in Texas where the state drink is probably the margarita, tequila is an important part of the party lifestyle, especially at any of the Mexican restaurants in town such as Chuy's. Today, one of the popular drinks here in Austin is the Mexican Martini made with a top shelf tequila, a little orange juice, Grand Marnier, cointreau, and dirty (i.e. with some olive juice) shaken and served straight up like a martini.
If you have someone who is a true tequila aficianado, here's a very special gift. It's also a great gift for someone who wants something unique--a bottle that is an art form that is unlike no one else's in the world. If either of these fit someone on your gift list, check out the custom tequila bottles at Essential 1800 Artists. This tequila is to be savored and enjoyed, much like a fine brandy, single malt scotch, or cognac.
For me, pass the chips, the guacamole, and the Mexican Martini.
